By accessing or using tastelokal.in (the “Website”) and placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Website. These Terms form a legally binding contract between you (“Customer”) and TasteLokal (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law to place an order. By using the Website you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Account Responsibility

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.

4. Products

We sell heritage and regional Indian foods sourced directly from artisan makers across Bihar (with planned expansion to other states). All products carry clearly stated weights, ingredients, shelf life, and origin information. Images on the Website are representative — slight variation in colour, shape, or finish is expected for hand-crafted artisanal foods and does not constitute a defect.

5. Pricing & Taxes

All prices on the Website are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of applicable GST unless otherwise stated. Shipping charges, where applicable, are calculated and displayed at checkout before payment. Prices are subject to change without prior notice but the price displayed at the time of order confirmation is the final price for that order.

6. Order Acceptance

Placing an order on the Website constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order for reasons including but not limited to product unavailability, pricing errors, fraudulent activity, or shipping address restrictions. An order is confirmed only after we send you an order confirmation email or WhatsApp message and the payment has been successfully received.

10. Food Safety & Quality

All products are sourced from FSSAI-licensed makers and packaged hygienically. Each product carries a printed “best before” date. The Customer is responsible for inspecting the package on delivery and reporting any visible damage or tampering within 24 hours. Once a sealed pack is opened, the freshness and edibility of the contents are the Customer’s responsibility.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website — including the TasteLokal brand mark, wordmark, written copy, photography, recipes, illustrations, and code — is owned by us or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use any of this content without our prior written consent.

12. User-Submitted Content

By submitting reviews, photos, or other content through the Website you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that content for marketing and product improvement. We reserve the right to moderate or remove content that is illegal, abusive, or misleading.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TasteLokal’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Website or any product purchased is limited to the amount you paid for that specific order. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold TasteLokal harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Website, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.

15. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, cyber-attacks, or courier disruptions.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Patna, Bihar.
