Description
From the sweet shops of Maner Sharif
On the banks of the Sone, just west of Patna where the river bends toward the Ganga, sits the old town of Maner — a place of Sufi shrines, centuries-old bazaars, and one of Bihar’s most beloved sweets. Maner ke laddu have been rolled here for generations, sold to pilgrims visiting the dargah of Makhdoom Yahya Maneri and carried home across the state as an edible token of celebration.
Our laddus follow that same unhurried method. Fine gram flour (besan) is slow-roasted in pure desi ghee until it turns deep gold and releases its nutty aroma — the patient step that separates a great laddu from a forgettable one. It is sweetened, scented with freshly ground green cardamom, studded with plump raisins, and shaped by hand while still warm. The result is a laddu that is soft and lightly grainy at once, rich with ghee yet never cloying, and built to melt the moment it meets your tongue.
Because we make them in small batches with no preservatives, every piece carries the honest texture of a home kitchen rather than a factory line. This is the sweet families reach for at festivals, weddings, and Diwali gatherings — and the one that travels best as a gift from Bihar to anyone who grew up on it.
Each box is freshly packed to protect that delicate crumb. Serve at room temperature, or warm a laddu for a few seconds to bring back its just-made softness.
